Case Study: Nottingham County Council
Nottingham County Council were looking to award a supplier to help them deliver a project to evaluate the effectiveness, access and reach of previous wellbeing services, therefore, they reached out to Consultancy+ to support on the project.
The challenge
Nottingham County Council set out to deliver a project to evaluate the effectiveness, access and reach of previous wellbeing services. They wanted to award a supplier who understood the importance of partnership and collaboration to help them deliver the project.
The council approached Consultancy+ with a clear view of the scope of work and well-defined project outcomes. However, they had not completely established or decided the supplier to deliver their project.
While the authority had previous experience with some suppliers, they wanted to ensure a fair and clear process was followed when selecting a supplier for this project.
The solution
The process started with a briefing meeting to understand the client's needs, budget, timelines, and outcomes. Once we understood these, our focus was to source and identify the right suppliers to deliver the project. This needed to be a supplier with experience, availability and one who could become a true partner to the authority to add value, collaboration, and insight.
From a long list of eight to ten suppliers, we managed a process to reduce the list to three. The next stage was to arrange supplier meetings with the client for the project requirement to be fully understood and for the short-listed suppliers to present their suitability and case studies.
Following these meetings, the client felt well positioned and excited to select their preferred supplier and agree best pricing. We then started the process of contracting and agreeing a kick-off meeting for the project.
The result
Nottingham County Council successfully selected their preferred supplier to help them deliver their project. The feedback we had throughout the process was very positive as the council felt we managed the process in a proactive way which meant they knew we were focused on progressing so they could focus on their own workload.
They were also pleased we were able to present a range of suitable suppliers from them to review as it gave them confidence in their decision.
